UNIDO is partnering with Hewlett Packard (HP), a leading technology provider, to extend the reach and impact of HP’s flagship entrepreneurship education programme ‘HP Learning Initiative for Entrepreneurs (HP LIFE) to Africa of which Nigeria is a beneficiary. The project aims to reach up to 166,000 individuals with a view of creating at least 40,000 direct jobs. The LIFE Project complements the efforts of the National Enterprise Development Programme (NEDEP) of the Federal Government of Nigeria to promote Job Creation and Employment with the overall objectives of:
- Facilitating the creation of entrepreneurship ventures, thereby strengthening economic empowerment through the development and growth of Small and Medium Enterprises in Nigeria.
- Facilitating the start-up and growth of enterprises or employment through skills and entrepreneurship capacity building
- Facilitating the linkage of trained entrepreneurs to financial institutions for start-up and expansionary loans.
Leapworld has been appointed by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) as a strategic training partner on the Hewlett Packard (HP) Learning Initiative For Entrepreneurs (LIFE) programme to build capacity by inculcating business and IT. HP LIFE in Nigeria is being facilitated by the United Nations Industrial Development Organizations (UNIDO) and supported by the Federal Government of Nigeria (Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Federal Ministry of Youth Development, Federal Ministry of Women Affairs), Bank of Industry (BOI) and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) as a credible enterprise promotion and development solution.
